To all Western Archives Valued Clients:
As you are undoubtedly aware, there have been several public health warnings regarding the recently announced COVID-19 Pandemic. Please be advised that Western Archives & Shredding is a proud Alberta company and is taking all reasonable precautions to ensure the ongoing health and safety of our employees, customers and general public.
In order to keep our workplace healthy, we are following recommendations provided from the World Health Organization (WHO), Government of Canada, and Alberta Health Services (AHS). In doing so here are some of the key measures we have discussed and implemented with our staff as of March 13th:
Staying home when sick:
Any employee who is sick or showing symptoms of being sick will be required to self-isolate and not return to work until symptoms have diminished and Health Link (811) says it is safe to do so.
Additional PPE & Hygiene:
We have added gloves as a new piece of mandatory PPE on all worksites and have provided staff with both vinyl coated gloves and nitrile disposable gloves to ensure they have the proper glove for every situation. In accordance with our hand washing policy and Pandemic Action Plan all staff are required to scrub hands thoroughly upon arrival to our facilities and prior to and after removing gloves as part of their PPE.
Disinfection:
Along with daily logged disinfection of all shared surfaces within our facilities (doorknobs, light switches, telephones, keyboards, desktops, etc…). Our Shredding Operators are sanitizing all shredding bins after they have been removed for regular servicing.
Distancing:
In an effort to keep the recommended 1-meter distance for human interaction, clients will temporarily no longer be required to sign our work orders. Instead full names must be provided to our staff and they will record on work orders along with time of delivery.
Office Closures and service postponements
While we implement strict health and safety guidelines with our own staff, we are still committed to fulfilling our service responsibilities to you, our valued client. For those organizations that have advised us of reduced office hours, or possible closures completely, we thank you very much. For those that still haven’t and are planning to do so in the coming days, or weeks, we would appreciate as much advance notice as you can provide.
Western Archives & Shredding will waive all service costs for clients who notify us in advance of office closures or inability for our teams to service their regularly scheduled locations.
If you have any questions or require more information regarding our Pandemic Action Plan please contact me directly by email (seanl@westernarchives.com) or calling 780-488-2100 ext. 203. This situation is quite fluid and we will do our best to communicate any material changes as they arise.
Thank you,
Sean LeLacheur
